Introduction
Singapore State Law requires that all clients and alternative medicine practitioners understand and accept the following document before beginning care. This statement outlines your rights as a client and the credentials of your practitioner.
Practitioner Credentials and Training
Dr. Saravanan is a Board-Certified Naturopathic Physician, trained at The Naturopathic Therapies Clinic, a nationally and regionally accredited naturopathic medicine school in Sydney, Australia.
Naturopathy is a unique discipline that integrates scientific medical training with natural healing principles, focusing on restoring health through non-invasive, drug-free, and nature-based methods.
Training Overview
- Completion of pre-med requirements and over 400 hours of supervised clinical practice under licensed naturopathic physicians.
- Studies include anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, cardiology, endocrinology, gynecology, and clinical nutrition.
- Training also covers homeopathy, botanical medicine, physical medicine, massage therapy, counseling, and holistic medical theory.
Naturopathic physicians use this integrated knowledge to help patients restore wellness from the inside out, often addressing conditions that conventional medicine fails to resolve.
Licensing and Legal Context
Dr. Saravanan is a Board-Certified Naturopathic Physician.
Currently, Singapore does not have specific licensing laws governing the practice of Naturopathic Medicine. This absence of regulation is largely due to opposition from unlicensed alternative practitioners who fear the implications of formal licensing.
The Society of Natural and Alternative Health Therapists (SONAHT) in Singapore is currently working with the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) to establish national standards for Naturopathic practice.
It is our sincere hope that Singapore will soon recognize Naturopathic Medicine as a licensed profession, ensuring higher standards of care and safe, regulated access to alternative healthcare for the community.

State Legal Disclosure
Naturopathy is considered complementary medicine and not statutorily regulated in Singapore. Nonetheless, all traditional and complementary medicine providers, including naturopaths, must comply with relevant Acts including the Medicine Act (Advertisement and Sales), Poisons Act, Message Establishment Act etc, where applicable. For clarifications, you may wish to contact the Ministry of Health (MOH).

- Office visits and physical medicine treatments are charged at SGD 100 per hour.
- Payment is due at the time of service or product delivery.

Theoretical Approach
Naturopathic Medicine does not treat disease directly. Instead, it focuses on restoring balance and strengthening the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
